Sydney is one of the world’s most famous tourist destinations. It is located in the south east coast of Australia. Sydney is the epitome of all tourist destinations in the world with countless, spectacular attractions. A vacation in Sydney can never lack a visit to the beach. Sydney has no shortage of beaches. It is home to world’s most spectacular beaches.
There are beautiful Pacific Ocean beaches. Beaches like Cronolla Beach, Balmoral Beach and such like will offer spectacular glimpses of the golden sunrise and the sunset. In addition to these, beaches are venues to world famous water sports such as sailing, diving, wind surfing and cruising.
Wherever you are in the city, you are never half an hour away from a beach. All the way from the popular Palm Beach in the North, to the south tourists can always a wide range of beaches to choose. The beaches are magnificent with a sweep of sand lined up in an eclectic mix of ice cream parlors, surf shops and designer cafes. Most hotels in Sydney are located in convenient locations, so that tourists can access most of the top attractions without having to go much further.
Another top attraction is the landscape. The landscape of Sydney has great diversity with mountain ranges close to the city. For example, Blue Mountains are famous for their natural beauty and spectacular scenery. These will astound you. The Three Sisters and the Jameison valley offer tourists an excellent opportunity to view them. Wildlife parks are also part of the rich heritage in Sydney. Wildlife Parks such as Waratah Earth Sanctuary and Australian Wildlife Park are examples.
Another top attraction is the royal botanical gardens. The green lung is a 30-hectare botanical garden established in 1816 and contains 7500 species of plants. The garden is criss -crossed by paths and walks, which lead strollers past two sets of ponds, numerous horticultural areas and garden sculptures. The fish farm, the herb and succulent gardens, the Sydney tropical centre and the palm groove are all sites to behold.
There is also The Rocks; it has the largest concentration of building in the city of Sydney. Sydney boasts of some rich historical as well as cultural heritage and many attractions there are a testimony to the past of this great city. The Rocks as a site tries to capture, at a glance the colonial part of the city. The buildings instantly take a tourist back to the past. The Powerhouse, which is spacious and a modern museum hosts the remnants of the city as well. However, most of these buildings have been recycled with restaurants, art galleries and house shops.
The attractions in Sydney cannot be complete without mention of the Olympic park. This is the site of the 2000 Australian Olympic Games, built on a former garbage dump. Stadium Australia, built for the Olympic track and field events, at present is the venue for Australian rugby and soccer matches. Tourists also have access to the Aquatic center for their swimming escapades. The observation deck of the Novotel Hotel offers a great view of the eco-friendly Olympic park.
